The Windows Server 2022 RDS 50 User CAL pack authorizes 50 named users to use the Remote Desktop Services (RDS) of a Windows Server 2022. RDS access licenses are always required when users access a terminal server via Remote Desktop – for example to use centrally provided applications or full desktops over the network. One RDS CAL is needed per user. This bundle covers 50 users at once and is therefore significantly more economical than buying individually. These are user-based CALs (per user) assigned to a specific person – regardless of how many devices that person uses to connect. This is particularly suitable for employees who work from different devices or from home. Important: RDS CALs require that the server itself and the regular Windows Server CALs are already licensed – they do not replace these.
